Missed-call text-back for service businesses

When the crew is on a job, new calls often hit voicemail. A text-back can help—if a human still owns the conversation and you approve the wording first. This is a process guide, not a promise of more jobs or revenue.

What “text-back” means here

Minimum process (paper works)

  1. Missed call is noticed (voicemail, ring log, or front counter note)
  2. One person owns the next step within a time box (example: 15–20 minutes during open hours)
  3. Optional: send a short approved text that invites a reply
  4. Human follows up by phone or text when free
  5. Write the outcome: reached / left message / not a fit / booked

Do not turn on any SMS tool until account ownership, consent posture, opt-out language, and copy are reviewed.

Sample wording (edit before use)

“Hi, this is [Company]. Sorry we missed your call. Reply with your name, service address, and what you need help with. A team member will follow up. Reply STOP to opt out.”

Examples only. Adjust for your trade, area, and compliance needs. Not legal advice.
